Week 27

1/18-1/24

• This week we got to enjoy a 3 day holiday weekend together which actually included some sleep. Sleep still isn't great but getting a little better.. still not crazy about letting her cry it out..
• No crawling forward yet but she is getting better at pushing herself backwards on her belly. I don't think she knows what she's doing but its cute.
• We put her in her 9 month PJ's and they fit all of the sudden *last week they were huge* and all of the sudden her 6 month clothes are getting to small.. hello growth spurt.
• I really want to start buying her spring/summer clothes but not sure how big she will be come then.. she was in 6 month clothes I think longer than 3 months.
• We visited the Thayers/Pappas on Friday night and celebrated Jay's birthday. We even got to hang out with grandpa and Katie without crying. We are hoping to try another babysit adventure soon.
• We played outside in the snow for the first time. Next year we will need to buy a sled :)
• We also visited gramma this week as mommy had a dentist apt.
• Tried sweet potatoes and I think she actually liked them. she actually opened wide and everything.



Week 26

1/11-1/17

• Went back to the dr's this week because Lyla went from pooping to much to not pooping at all or if she did its hard and the size of golf balls.. Poor peanut :(  They recommended prune juice and gave us a go ahead with foods!!
• The first food we started with was sweet peas.. We were told foods that start with P because that will help her with her poops.
• Her sleeping still isn't great... Brach wants to let her cry it out "Ferber method" i'm not a big fan of that..
• Still no teeth yet :(
• No crawling forward still going backwards
• Getting really good at holding her own bottle just can't hold it up.. a little to heavy still.
• We tried the sippy cup again but she's having a hard time getting anything out of it.



Week 25

1/4-1/10

• We ended up having Lyla's 6mo appointment a couple day's before since we were going into the office due to a pooping concern.
• Weight: 16 lbs 3 oz 50th percentile
• Height: 2' 2.5" 89th percentile (my very tall baby girl)
• Head Circumference 41.8cm
• Lyla has been pooping 3-4 times a day for a couple months but usually 2x atleast she would poop out of her outfit for we are trying SOY formula to see if that might help.. 
• Lyla's sleep seems to be starting to get back on the right track with only waking up once but we are still struggling to get her down at night.. we start around 8/9 when she's tired but she never seems to really go down until 11.. how do we get her to bed sooner?
• Lyla is a little jumping bean.. she can't seem to get enough!
• Because we started new formula the pedi wants us to wait a week or so before introducing foods just in case there is any trouble with the formula.
• Lyla seems to have stopped rolling over which is strange... if we put her on her belly thought she will stay there for a while and go around in circles and push her self backwards.  Crawling doesn't seem like its that far away.
• Still no teeth but the pedi says it should be anytime based on how she was chewing things at the office.
• Shes getting much better at sitting up on her own and even sat on her own during her pictures @ JCP.
• Grandpa & Aunt Katie came to babysit on Saturday so mommy and daddy could go on a date and ms lyla wasn't soo excited.. she cried a little.. I didn't think she was that dependent on brach and I because we are always bringing her around new people and they take her away and she's normally fine..

 

Week 24

12/28-1/3

• This week Lyla started eating oatmeal cereal and its been a somewhat successful.  Each day's she's getting better and better at it.
• We try her with her sippy cup but doesn't seem like she's totally ready yet.
• She LOVES to jump all of the sudden, mommy and daddy's arms are so sore.  We ended up going to once upon a child and bought a jumper for her.
• She's back to wake up once in the middle of the night, not sure why she keeps going back and forth.
• Can sit up for a few seconds on her own but still falls over if she leans any direction.
• When on her belly, she will spin herself around and pushed her self backwards.. looks like crawling wont be far along.
• Has been pooping out of every diaper.. debating if we need to switch brands.. she doesn't seem ready for the next size up..
